Okay. read this article first.

I guess I understand some people not wanting children. But this article just seems to be celebrating self-centeredness, instant gratification, and the pervading American mindset that “if this doesn’t make me happy right now, it can’t be worth it.” I just feel like some people need to grow up and to understand that yes, there will be elements in life that are unpleasant for a time, but it’s those things that make you into a stronger and better person.

Grow up.

  1. I was getting annoyed reading the article too. I feel like it was condoning the idea of a perpetual adolescent lifestyle... until you die. Ridiculous.

  2. I can understand that some people who have grown up in a family unit that was falling apart might influence their decision not to have kids, but man. One of the comments talked about there only being so much good food, and that at the end of the day you want more, an adventure.

I am not going to pretend that I have an accurate view of what parenthood will look like for me, but I know that it's so much a part of who I am that I can't imagine living without children. :/

  3. Especially that first comment, where the women almost enjoys the pain her ex is going through "because" of children. Sounds to me like he's a failure because of his own habits, not his offspring. Personally, I'm not really into the idea of having kids, at least not right now, because I'm pretty darn sure I'd be a rotten father. But I'm not against it forever.
